Respectfully, I disagree.  Again, the IT people I know at NC State,
Duke, UNC, and the University of Illinois don't speak about their
experiences in this way.  They all, to a person, work on average less
than 45 hours per week.  I often speak to people in library IT, campus
IT, and IT in colleges and what Steve has said doesn't bear any
resemblance to what I hear from them.

That isn't the case in public universities in North Carolina.  Employees
subject to the personnel act are eligible for overtime.  Most IT people
are SPA employees.
