[TriLUG] Ubunutu Server Ibex GRUB

I'm installing Ubuntu Server 8.10 on an IBM xSeries 226 with 3 SATA
drives. The first drive is connected to the MB SATA1 and is
partitioned with /boot, / and swap. The next two drives are connected
to a Silicon Image SATA RAID card and configured as RAID0. The install
goes just fine, however after the system is installed and it reboots I
get the following:

GRUB loading stage 1.5
GRUB error 15

My google search finds several things about this error and tells me to
reinstall GRUB with a live CD. I then boot with my KUbuntu live CD and
when I try to mount the /dev/sda1 partition I get device does not
exist. So, I load gparted and I notice that there is no /dev/sda - it
is now /dev/sdd and the two other drives from the RAID are /dev/sdb
and /dev/sdc. Well, now I'm confused. I admit I'm not a GRUB expert
and it has always just "worked" before.

Any ideas on what I can try here? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
