+1 for slicehost. Note that slicehost is now owned by Rackspace.

Also look at linode. Main selling points of linode over slicehost:

* cheaper bandwidth per node
* more geographically diverse
* more distro options out of the box
* more full-featured interface

Main selling points of slicehost over linode:

* braindead easy web interface
* multiple, easy-to-find-in-the-interface chat/forum/irc options for
asking quick questions about your setup

If you need more human interaction & other "enterprisey" goodies, I
can heartily endorse Rackspace, but they're much, much more expensive
than the two just mentioned.
