Methinks there is a place that repairs pro audio gear over near Brentwood in same business park as American Brewmaster. I am hard pressed to remember the name and have been out of the music circles since the kids came along.

Creative Acoustics on Atlantic Ave in Raleigh may be able to help. I
rented a reel to reel deck from them about a year ago.

They may still have a couple of reel to reel decks that they rent out.
I don't know if they can repair yours for you, but it is worth a
check.
