Yes, you have to have XBox Live "Gold" in order to get the Netflix
streaming.

And, if you do a lot of streaming, you increase the chance that the
overheating/warpage/general-suckiness will take over and your xbox will
brick.

But assuming that it all works out for you, it's great.
