Hi folks,

Some of you may already know, but I thought I would spread the word.

Verisign, the new ( a decade ago ) owner of Thawte, has decided to shut down the Thawte Web of Trust, and cancel all of their free Certificates as of the 16th of next month.  They have offered to give users of their free Certificates a little time to convert them to paid Certificates, but from now on, if you want a free Certificate, you must get it from CAcert.
