I would also never agree to 2 years ...esp. if it's only saving me $20. It's a shame we cannot have FIOS in NC ...or Optimum Online for that matter.

   I am also paying around $170 a month for TW cable with dvr, phone,
and internet.  It was a bit lower ($120 i think) when we had the intro
special. We called up to see what kind of deal we could get when the
intro special ended.  They said we could get a special "lock in deal"
at $150 a month.  It seems lock in means we agree to stay with them
for 2 years and have an early termination fee if we choose to quit
before the 2 years are up.  They tried to make it sound like it was a
price lock guarantee but it seemed to me that I was the one being
locked in. That deal made me mad so I did not agree to it.

   But I still have not been able to find a better deal anywhere else.

   So how do you get past the front line guys to talk to someone who
will give you a reasonable deal?
