Greenlight is an independent ISP. It is separate from the City of Wilson
government.
The loan for the build out was backed by City Government but Greenlight
is carrying the debt.
Wilson isnt really a small town anymore. Its about the size of Cary and
there a lot of the old tobbaco money.
Also, remember BB&T has its main HQ there.

There have been rumours for years of the Town of Cary building out its
own fiber network. Also
remember that while the "Greenlight bill" was circulating through the
legislature the town of Charlotte
was quietly watching what went down as they are in the midst of building
out their own fiber infrastructure.
