My Asus WL-167g works perfectly in Linux.  It's a Ralink RT2500 wireless
USB dongle.  Most any Atheros or Ralink cards should work with no problems.

To the OP:  as others have posted, I also recommend checking out Newegg.
 Be sure to open up the user reviews (expand the list to display 100
reviews at a time) and search for "Linux" or whatever distro you use.
It's a great way to find out what works in Linux, even if you don't buy
from Newegg.
