Quick summary: I am looking for a used laptop that runs Linux - Ubuntu preferably. If you have one to sale, please contact me off list.

Details: I have used my trusty Sony Vaio for a couple years as an "under the couch" laptop which I can pull out for quick checks - usually google searches, web pages, or youtube. Unfortunately, the hinge for the LCD screen is severely damaged and I am not sure how much longer it will last. The Sony Vaio is only a 1.8Ghz P4, with 256MB physical, 1024x768 screen, 4GB drive, and no builtin-wifi.

Preferred specs: I am looking for a system similar to what I have now - nothing fancy - but I would like to be able to upgrade the mem to 1-2GB, and builtin WiFi support would allow me to get rid of the USB wifi widget constantly in the way.

Since this is basically a true 'laptop' computer which either hides under the couch or on my lap for short durations, I am not as worried about size, weight, battery life, etc. However, for the right price/specs, I would be interested in a reasonable netbook as well.

If you have a system for sale, please contact me off list with what you have and your desired asking price. I would prefer to keep the cost in the $250 or less range.
