What you actually want is a syslog server. Anything you set up should
have some sort of syslog facility. Have that talk to a separate server
with lots of disk and avoid the moving parts on your router.

Also a heads up that pfSense lags behind m0n0wall, and the latter has
IPv6 support. Good to start looking at that now.
