[TriLUG] OT: Earthlink and ISPs

I've been with Earthlink (Mindspring) for well over a decade, and have to
add to this discussion.

Looking at my records for the last 5 years, I've called the support team a
total
of 6 times. 3 of those calls were to set up, and to cancel, an extra account
I had
at another address for 6 months. If there is an outage, which has been
extremely
rare (twice), I called TWC to get the ETA on the fix.

My bill is $5.00 less a month for using Earthlink, with TWC equipment. I
average
6.8 - 7.5 speeds at all times. Working from home, my VPN has yet to have an
issue.
I'm happy with the speed of the standard service, and don't feel that I need
to upgrade
to a business service (yet). If it makes any difference, I live in
Hillsborough, not in a
"city" environment. All of my services work as I need them to (Wii streaming
Netflix,
SSH, web server for streaming music, work VPN, my own router & proxy,
torrents, etc.)

FWIW, I'm darn happy and will stick with Earthlink.
