You know, all yesterday I thought that this was an interesting 
discussion, but now I'm getting the sense that we are in the spin zone. 
Nobody argues a point this strongly unless they have a vested interest 
in the outcome of the legislation.

This is a flawed bit of lobbyist payback, much like the bill they tried 
to shove through last year to protect their profits. IMHO this is bad 
for competition and if passed would reduce choice, increase cost and 
eliminate the incentive for telcos to improve.
