AT&T/Bellsouth routinely blocks outgoing port 25.

I suspect they don't care if nerds like us are running
a mail server in our house.  Instead, they are trying
to prevent the botnets from sending spam out port 25.

If you want to send mail from your home, they want you
to use their SMTP servers so they can measure it, and
possibly even filter it.
