Minimum Requirements

3 years of IT experience, including systems and network administration 
and including experience with several of the following: Windows Server, 
Linux server, Windows domains, web server, administration, backup 
software and operations, database administration, storage area networks, 
VoIP, network and systems monitoring tools, server patch management, 
security administration, and server hardware maintenance. Bachelor's 
degree in computer Science, Engineering or related field necessary.

Position Duties

Serves as first line of defense for all infrastructure systems 
(networks, servers, storage, and telecommunications); ensures their 
continuous operations and coordinates outage resolutions. Uses and 
configures monitoring tools to be notified proactively of any systems 
events. Investigates recurring issues, performs trend analysis on system 
performance, bandwidth utilization and system capacity. Performs or 
coordinates scheduled system maintenance such as operating system and 
application patches, driver and firmware updates, etc. Monitors system 
backups using disk and tape backup systems. Performs data restores as 
necessary. Creates reports to other IT employees on system capacity and 
availability. Performs tier 2 systems and network administration to 
resolve or prevent outages. Coordinates with the tier 3 support staff as 
necessary for issue resolution. Monitors system security, reports on 
events to the security officer, and coordinates resolution of security 
issues. Manages the day-to-day operations of two data centers. Provides 
support for the support desk in an overflow capacity answering customer 
calls, support and resolution.
