[TriLUG] Portable Linux (Bootable USB Flash Drive) Creation?

Yeah, in the past, Mandrake had a downloadable distro called Mandrake Move, that was great. I can't find anything like it now. I have found those creators, but I must be doing something wrong. I'm going to keep playing and see what I can come up with.

I believe Ubuntu can do this using the built-in Startup Disk Creator. You
can allot some amount of space to keep the changes you make to the system.
I've never used this feature, but from what I understand it does what you
need. In the past I used Slax (http://www.slax.org/) for a USB flash drive
OS, and thoroughly enjoyed it.
