Software Developer for Medical Image Web Applications

Job Description:

An entry level software engineer is needed to join the HeartIT team to develop and support WebPAX, a browser based system for medical imaging. WebPAX systems enable Physicians to view and manage MRI, X-ray, CT and other medical scans with a myriad of user control option (zoom/pan, measure..etc) using bare bones web browsers. In addition, a browser-based worldwide research network built on WebPAX allows the sharing of medical images and associated records across institutions. In August 2011, a Federal Technology Transfer Grant has been awarded to HeartIT to develop WebPAX technology as a SaaS (Software as a Service) PACS system, in collaboration with Johns Hopkins University. Selected candidate will have the opportunity to work with cutting edge technologies in a collaborative environment.

About Us:

HeartIT is the company that built and sold the first client free Picture Archive Communication and Storage (PACS) system that runs in bare bones web browsers.  Multiple patents have been awarded to HeartIT for its innovations in the creation of WebPAX, which has been approved by the FDA. WebPAX has been in use at major academic institutions for clinical as well as research use, since 2000. HeartIT will continue to innovate as health information technology grows at an unprecedented rate. (www.heartit.com) 

Qualifications:

Applicant must have a BS/BA in computer/science/math or related major. Experience with LAMP (Perl) implementations a plus. Candidates must either live in the area or be willing to relocate to North Carolina's Triangle area. Must be cleared to work in the US.  No sponsorships available.
