How? If there are issues with the memory, you'll either get random 
crashing of programs or random crashing of the kernel, or random lockups 
(like what you're seeing) if the memory stops responding entirely when 
some combination of events happens (can be caused by a bad motherboard or 
memory controller too). None of those will show up in the logs.
