Are you implying that for any sufficiently complicated 
device, there's a badly implemented version of a networked 
oven in there?

If the client is behind a nat-box and has opened a vpn to 
the server, then can't the server initiate connections 
whenever it wants?

So someone writes a stuxnet for TMIO's and one day everyone 
in Japan comes home to find their dinner charred.
