While I would agree that paper is a derivative from wood, I would
imagine that the original purpose is keep from releasing any toxins
that may be present in the inks and the chemicals that are used in the
process to make paper.  If you've driven by a paper plant, you can
smell it miles away.

I just wanted to point out the NC Burn laws for burner beware lest you
have an irritated neighbor who calls the fire dept. on you.  I don't
care what you do in your bed in the backyard.
