[TriLUG] Using Eclipse...

I want to set up a large project. I want to do several things with it:

Use a standard repository to track the whole thing and share the load
with others. I would prefer 'git' for this.

Good documentation tools that:
a) Keep track of the project status. (Change log, task lists,
    schedules, priorities...)
b) Descriptive information. (Various user documents, design and
    requirements and much more...)

Multiple components:
a) Tools to enhance the build system.
b) Shared Libraries (many of these).
c) Support programs (a modest number of these).
d) A system environment (a.k.a a platform, synchronization, resource
    management...)

Testing, debugging, problem tracking, an integrated development
environment.

Mostly in 'C' to assure performance. Tools may be in other languages.
GNU tool chain...

All of which seem to be available in 'Eclipse'.

But THAT makes too big a hunk to swallow all at once.

So, how do I set up a workspace that is also a 'git' repository?

How do I set up sub-projects and sub-sub-projects with variations in
build environment, at least on the sub-project level.
