[TriLUG] Anyone using, or would like to use, Plain TeX?

I guess it won't be a big surprise to folks on this list who know me
(especially those who have seen my shop) that yeah, I use TeX.  I like
it for exactly the reason you mention:  With it you _can_ do anything
that you need to do.

Unfortunately, it's not quite C like enough for me.  One of the main
things I like about C is that it's about as dead simple as you can get
in a programming language.  C is so simple, even *I* can understand
it.  TeX is far from simple.  As such, there's not a lot of it I claim
to understand.  None the less, I have a couple good books about it,
and I can usually find whatever I need to enable me to do whatever I'm
trying to do.  Sometimes it takes a while, though....

I would certainly recommend it to someone, who will be spending a lot
of time with whatever they end up using.  If you're writing books, I
would assume that qualifies.  It has much fruit to bear for those who
take the time to really learn it.  I've mostly just scratched the
surface of it, but because I know it is unlikely I will ever need to
do something that it can't handle, I stick with it.
