Junior Systems Admin - Linux 

Location: Cary, NC 

This is an hourly full time permanent employment situation so over time
is paid time and a half and good amount of over time opportunities arise
through out the year.

Looking to Pay Hourly between $20 - $22/Hour depending on the experience
for an exceptional candidate willing to pay $25/Hour

Small Raleigh IT hosting firm is seeking a  full-time tech to add to our
team as a Jr. Sysadmin with a focus on Linux systems. Our company
provides managed cloud hosting services to a diverse array of businesses
and organizations. Built on a commitment to our customers' success, 
the company has worked closely with customers and grown steadily year
over year as a local provider with an international footprint.


Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

- Respond to customer phone calls and support ticket requests as well as
  automated monitoring alerts
- Setup new servers following documented procedures (hardware assembly,
  rack, and cable)
- Perform Level 1 troubleshooting of server slowdowns and errant
  behavior, based on specific procedures
- Escalate technical problems to various parties including on-call
  engineer and vendors
- Efficiently communicate with customer regarding ongoing issues


Desired Skills:

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Aptitude for solving problems and increasing technical knowledge
  through research
- Experience working directly with customers in technical problem
  solving situations
- Understanding and adapting to diverse systems
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting various operating systems
  with an emphasis on Linux
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting networking and web
  technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, LAMP stack, etc.)
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and set your own
  "to-do" lists
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotations (may include some
  nights and weekends)



Interview process:

In person interview for an hour with the owner and the Technical Support
Manager

After they like him they will send a test via email.

If they like the candidate they make an offer

Healthcare insurance is not offered but will pay $250 per month per
employee to cover costs of buying health care insurance.

10 days a year PTO 
Company listed paid National Holidays 

The expected schedule to start will be M-F 9-5 with on call rotations on
nights and weekends and this schedule is subject to change depending on
coverage needs.
