[TriLUG] Where to buy printer toner cartridges?

Toner & ink cartridges are best bought on eBay. Select a vendor which
specializes in toner & ink, typically with an eBay store or seller name
which reflects that specialty, like Ink123, or TonerPalace, or
BigDropOfInk, or whatever. (I just made up those names, but they are
similar to real names.) Also, try to select a seller who has sold lots of
the particular cartridges you need, and who has tens of thousands of
feedbacks, >= 99% of them positive. (Note that 98% positive is actually a
poor feedback rating.)

Buying from somebody in Asia is fine, unless you're in a terrible hurry. Be
careful if you're considering buying from somebody who doesn't specialize
in ink & toner, and who may have had a few cartridges sitting in their
closet since who-knows-when. Toner cartridges don't last forever, at least
not the ones which have the photosensitive drums inside: the toner probably
lasts almost forever, but the windshield-wiper-like rubber device that
wipes the toner from the drum rots in a few years.
