Not my area, but googling fax tampering leads to 488,000 results
googling encryption tampering leads to 451,000 results

However to add to that unscientific research, I still maintain security is
up to your weakest link.  In my experience the weakest link is always
people.  In the case of most fax machines they are in common areas where
often critical documents are left to sit till whoever was waiting for it
gets around to it.
