[TriLUG] Android Address Book

First time TriLUG poster.... hello folks...

I had a similar although not exactly the same issue when going to an
Android phone with Verizon and ended up with boatloads of duplicate
contacts. In that case it had to do with verizon's contacts and gmail
contacts both trying to play at the same time. I turned off the verizon
contacts and I think perhaps more importantly the verizon backup
functionality and all duplicates went away and life was good with only
gmail contacts after that which is what I wanted.

I can't look at the settings to be real specific since I finally sickened
of all the garbage / un-wanted apps Verizon forced on my phone and when my
daughter's new job made her use their iPhone I hijacked hers and went over
to the dark side... which is not nearly as dark as Verizon with regards to
unwanted apps :-)

Hope that's somehow userful.

Mike
