I assume same "leg" is the same run from the circuit breaker. In that case, flip 
the circuit breaker and see what goes out. You can test the outlets with a 
standard 3 pin tester from the hardware store (the type that tell you if the 
outlet is wired up properly), rather than carrying a lamp around.
