Here are two other solutions you may consider:

First, Ubiquiti products. As I mentioned on the mailing list before, it has
better range than my TP-Link WDR-4300 did with huge antennas. I thought I'd
have to have two of them, but turns out one covered my house, yard,
driveway, and a bit down the street too. What's more, UniFi adapters
support seamless backhaul over Wi-Fi. If one doesn't cover your area, get a
second one, configure it to do backhaul via the first, then install it
where you need it.

Another option similar to the UniFi is Open Mesh (http://www.open-mesh.com/).
They specifically design their devices to do the backhaul over Wi-Fi, so
you can easily connect two or more of then via Wi-Fi only. Given the origin
requirements for relatively low bandwidth these two might be the best
solutions.
