Just saw this -

The Federal Communications Commission seeking comments on preventing users
from flashing the firmware of devices that contain radio transmitters.
(So this would affect Open-WRT on wireless routers, Cyanogenmod on mobile
devices, etc.)  If you don't want the FCC to restrict users from doing this
