[TriLUG] Server Distro on HP with SAS Drives

Yes, that is starting to make sense now.

I see where at the point where you get the install or install test media
you can press escape and then use dd.  The instructions call for
blacklisting the AHCI driver, using a USB stick with a copy of the HPVSA
driver on it and then using DD and pointing it to the new driver.

Guess that is something to try tomorrow morning.
