If i am reading this correctly are you trying to set up something like
kerberos. You could given the user trying to initiate the remote pi an
account (same user id and password) on the remote pi with permission  and
then configure the user to auto login with the same password. Kerberos can
autologin without having to save the password in your script.
I am not familiar with all of the setup, but from my limited understanding
of security, this should work.
