Guys, please stop.  Although I'm grateful for folks willing to share parental advice... You don't know our circumstances and why unmonitored access won't work for us.
I'm looking for a technical solution to a problem and any technical advice is most appreciated.

You could let your kids explore the world on their own and let them ask 
questions about what they find. It worked for my kid.
