[TriLUG] Blocking a linux laptop (Mint 17) from connecting to an open wifi ap.

This is what I do on my HTPC boxes.

- Configure your machine to connect to your router only ... assign a static
IP/Gateway under
  the IPV4 tab in Network Manager ... set to "Manual".
- Configure the web browser(s) to proxy through your router.


Unchecking the auto-connect for specific AP's will help as shared above.
