<P><FONT SIZE=2>When I run vi/vim on a Cygwin SSH terminal, say to look at named zone files or a shell script, vi will often use dark colors (dark blue, dark burgundy, dark green) on a black background. Needless to say, this is hard to read for any length of time.</FONT></P>


<P><FONT SIZE=2>What do I need to change to get vi to use a more reasonable palette of light text colors on a black background?</FONT>
