Actually, the wireless microwave shots I engineered in 1982 for
Carolina Power and Light Co. (aka Progress Energy) that connected to
VEPCO at the NC/VA border and to SCE&G at the NC/SC border
supposedly work right well. Ditto for the 802.11b units with
directional antennae that connect two manufacturing plants at my
largest client site.<br>

However, the omnidirectional unit for client PC connections that we
used for our RHCE study group last year puked hard on little things
like POP3. Ditto for the wireless units at the Cardinal Club, hotel
lobbies, yadayadayada. So, I gave it away. Do as you choose and be
happy.<br>

Mr. Ray,
I believe everyone on this list is now intimately familiar with your
unique problems in deploying wireless. I cannot speak for others, but I
have maintained successful wireless deployments at two employers and at
my home. Unless you can offer constructive assistance in solving the
problem being inquired about, may I suggest that you need not remind us
for the umpteenth time that "wireless sucks"?
