Well said, sorry that I did not provide that info in the first place. 

I am familiar with HTML, first with the text editor notepad and then by

programs like HotDog and a little Frontpage.  I have run local linux

and windows mail servers in the past.  Currently, I have the Apache

server running on a Mandriva install.  What I need to do now is learn

where to store the html files on the Apache server.  I have already

tested and can view the default page over the local net and the

Internet.  <br>

Hi Thomas,

Perhaps you can give us a basic summary of your experience with web 

servers, web development, server administration., to date, even if on 

Windows?  E.g. if you're already familiar with the basics of web server 

administration on Windows, or already know how to write HTML, you've got 

the basic concepts down, and what you really need is some HOWTOs and 

pointers.  But if you're not much of a computer geek and want to start 

at square one, that's a bit different.
