I acquired quotes today from all the pizza joints on Hillsboro street plus
Papa John's on Avent Ferry and Little Ceasars in Apex. I will try to get the
quotes typed in tonight. The quotes ranged from 94.15 to 199.00

As mentioned in the meeting last week, our usual pizza vendor, Megabite,
has gone our of business. We're not sure whether it's temporary or
permanent... there was a hand-written sign on their door that said
"closed for emergency".

The Megabite guys offered us a good deal... we would get 16 pizzas for
$8 apiece. We would typically call in the afternoon before a meeting so
they would have plenty of advance notice.

We need to find a new vendor who can offer a similar package of decent
food for a decent price. If someone would like to call around for
quotes, the LUG would certainly benefit. I suppose we don't have to
restrict ourselves to pizza, but we should keep in mind that we eat in
the meeting room, so some food is better than other.

Below are our notes from the steering wiki, which include our standard
order.

If you plan to call around, please respond to the volunteers list so we
don't have multiple people calling the same places with the same questions.

many thanks,

Alan

    Pizza

Megabite Pizza gives us a good rate, about $8 per large pizza plus tax.

Megabite Pizza
3231 Avent Ferry Rd # 102
Raleigh, NC 27606-3171
(919) 467-3333

Suggested backup pizza supplier is Papa Johns <http://www.papajohns.com>

      When to order

To guarantee delivery for the meeting, try to call at least 2 hours in
advance (i.e., before 5:00p).

      Paying

If possible, use the credit card for the TriLUG bank account.

If you cannot get this information or the card doesn't work, pay with
your own card and you will be reimbursed. Make sure the treasurer gets a
copy of the pizza receipt after the meeting.

      Standard order

    * for 50-60 people
    * 16 pizzas (see below)
    * Total (with tax) from Megabite has been as low as $121.80, should
      never be more than $160 for 16.

When attendance is expected to be higher (e.g., 85+ during 2010-02 and
2010-03), we've been getting 18 pizzas.

      Suggested pizza distribution

8 MEATIE

    * 5 pepperoni
    * 2 beef sausage
    * 1 ham

8 VEGGIE

    * 4 plain cheese
    * 2 pineapple
    * 1 black olive
    * 1 mushroom
