I think we need to ask ourselves who the target audience is. Is it really professors teaching students? Is it the students themselves? The question cuts to whether we want active or passive voice.

[edit] Target audience

I think that this should be viewed as a resource for anyone interested in learning or improving their Linux skills. --Rick DeNatale 10:27, 17 Aug 2005 (EDT)

In keeping with that, I think we should eliminate phrasing such as, "Teach them some neat tricks with the shell that save them time," in the shell variables section. I'm seeing a lot of this. It makes sense in its original context on the listserv, but here it's confusing. --User:Tarheelcoxn 16:52, 17 Aug 2005 (EDT)

[edit] Structure

Does anyone else feel that this article is starting to get too long?

Perhaps it's time to re-factor it and put some of the longer sub-topics into their own articles.

[edit] Might be worth breaking things out.

Yeah, it is a fairly long article. It might be worth breaking things out into smaller articles to have the flow go better. Although, there is something to be said for being able to print it out and refer to it offline. --Lovelace 14:52, 19 December 2006 (EST)
