VoipMeeting
From TriWiki
The monthly meetings are shared with the world by way of a MeetMe conference in the Asterisk open source PBX.
[edit] Dialing in
- If you are already participating in TARP, dial 101.
- If you wish to use your already existing Asterisk box, point any extension you like to
IAX2/guest@voip.cerient.net/40
- If you would like to use a desktop, download the latest release of KIAX. To configure:
- Server: voip.cerient.net
- Leave the username and password blank
- Make sure "Do not register" is checked.
- Once configured, dial 40.
- If you wish to use an old-fashioned telephone, call Cerient Technologies. At the voice prompt, dial the super sekret extension of 40.
[edit] Using the conference
- You will start off in the conference muted, being able to listen only. This will probably be sufficient, but should you decide that you need to do something, press *. A voice menu will greet you, but why listen to all that? Here's the quick overview:
- 1 - Toggle your mute
- 4 - Conference volume down
- 6 - Conference volume up
- 7 - Your volume down
- 9 - Your volume up
- 8 - Exit menu mode
- Do mind the consequences of your actions. Once unmuted, you will become the mysterious voice from above at the meatspace meeting!
- Once done providing your valued input, please put yourself back on mute. Errant typing and paper rustling is fine at the back of the room, but not on the loudspeaker.
[edit] Problems
You can dial in to the conference at any time to test your configuration. When a meeting is not going on, you should hear hold music. Contact Kevin Otte if you need further help troubleshooting.
