I picked up a APC 700 with and without batteries this morning, for a
reality check and from memory the APC RS1000 at Staples was lighter than
the battery-less APC 700 (or at least comparable). In this case it's
possible that the APC RS1000 from Staples doesn't have batteries at all.
The sales person at Staples was useless and could only read the price for
me.
