How about some spare cables (since lightening that could fry WAPs could 
also damage cables) and some cold spare WAPs pre-configured for your 
network? That way they'd be fast and easy to switch out, and you'd also 
have spares in case of the normal WAP failures (since consumer grade 
WAPs are basically disposable anyway)

It'd cost less than lightening, and protect against a lot of other 
possible issues (i.e. WAPs fried through the power system, get wet, etc)
