Principal  Engineer - Solutions Engineering / Systems Engineering

Job Description:
The Midrange Applications Solutions Group is the core provider of technical information involving the interaction of EMC's Unified Storage product line with third party applications and appliances.  The group consists of exceptional Systems Engineers who characterize EMC's midrange arrays with products like Microsoft Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, Oracle, Virtualization, High Performance Computing, and more. As a member of this team you would be responsible for the creation of EMC Proven Solutions in virtualized environments that align customer, partner, marketing, and product goals.
 
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
The effective Solutions Engineer will possess the following skills, knowledge, experience, aptitude, and attitude:
*	In-depth understanding of mission critical systems implementations including High Availability (HA), backup recovery and archival (BURA), and disaster recovery (DR)
*	Working knowledge of deploying and maintaining applications in a virtualized environment
*	In-depth understanding of Storage Area Networking (SAN), Network Attached Storage (NAS), and networking protocols such as Ethernet and Fibre Channel 
*	Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills are imperative
*	Strong system administration knowledge of Windows, Linux, VMware, and virtualization technologies
*	Experience with EMC hardware
*	Experience with EMC software like PowerPath, SnapView, Replication Manager, NetWorker, or Ionix is a plus
*	Ability to effectively participate in cross-functional teams, and own multiple deadline-driven projects simultaneously
*	Eloquent writing and communication skills are a must
