[TriLUG] mozilla pause for ads

The quicky fix for this if it's just a couple sites that bother you:
try adding those sites to your /etc/hosts file pointed to loopback:

127.0.0.1  ad.doubleclick.net

I think maybe what you're experiencing is actually a RR funky DNS
delay.  I had some issue with that about 6 mos ago, but it seems to be
cleared up.

I could be mistaken, but it's good to check the basic stuff.
