Dear Group Leader,

The Ohio LinuxFest 2005 is a free annual conference and event for the
Linux and Open Source Software community. Hosting authoritative
speakers, the Ohio LinuxFest 2005 welcomes Linux and OSS professionals,
enthusiasts, and anyone who wants to take part in the event. The purpose
of the Ohio LinuxFest from the first year is to involve Linux user
groups from all over to participate in a multi-lug event.

The Ohio LinuxFest is looking for help promoting this year's event from
Linux Users Group and other area organizations.

This is how you can help today
1. Please forward the letter below to your membership
2. If you happen to know if you or any of your members are going, please
let us know. We are hoping to track what user groups and organizations
are represented.
3. Encourage your lug members to go at your next meeting. Organize
carpooling. The Ohio LinuxFest is a great road trip for your LUG.
4. Promote this event around town and to your collegues. Please use the
flyer on http://www.ohiolinux.org/promotion.html
5. Link our LUG's website, please use the banner and the short
announcement on http://www.ohiolinux.org/promotion.html
(banner and short blurb post pending)
6. Feel free to submit Ohio Linux Fest to slashdot.org and other tech
and linux news sites. This will _really_ help us with promotion, but
getting on the frontpage is hard! A sample /. posting is provided below.
7. Approach non-Linux users! Ohio Linux Fest has talks of varying skill
levels, it is a great way for someone to get an introduction to Linux.
UNIX user groups, even Microsoft user groups probably have some members
who would be interested in such an event.

Please let us know if there's anything that Ohio LinuxFest can do for
you. Email us at team at ohiolinux.org

Thanks,

(person sending mail)
