Cat6 has dropped in price 25% in the last 5 years and is no longer twice
the price of Cat5e.

If for some reason she doesn't want to shell out the money for CAT6,
then make sure she gets at least 5e so that can get gigabit speeds.
CAT5 won't handle gigabit.
