I had earlier asked the same in Parallela forum and got the below response.
But i just wanted to see if i could re-write some of the GNU / HURD code to
actually fit the hardware architecture. For e.g. implement the Mach kernel
and for each server's action, create threads which can then be sent for
execution to the co-processors. I am just curious as we have had a lot less
system configuration and gnu has worked on them. I will keep trying on this
and keep you posted. Thanks for the suggestions.

The answer from Parallela ==>
I'd say : both implausible and impractical.
Unlikely to fit - each epiphany core has direct access to only 32 kb of RAM
- to be used for code, data, stack, etc.Lots of discussion in this
sub-forum about possible OS's for the Epiphany cores, but you can rule out
the major - and usually bloated [image: :)] - candidates.
Cheers,
Grey Tery
