[TriLUG] How to prevent? "fsck died with exit status 4"

I have snapped off a couple usbs by bumping it with my knee

doesn't a usb have a standard "read only" supposedly uncorruptible file
system program? I read that somewhere yesterday on the internet... I heard
recently, the internet is up to 6% total b.s., however, if what I read is
true then it seems like the file that is being edited would be the only
thing that would corrupt. or is that not exactly accurate?
