you can always mount (ro). You don't know what your problem is yet. This may do 
nothing.

we do better than that here. It's always 50% or better, peaking to 90% on heavy 
load. However it dropped significantly when Jim Ray left the list.

any file that's open for write could be corrupted. Your application's file(s) 
aren't the only open files.
