[TriLUG] Virtual Box Problem

In safe mode, go to Start > Run > "msconfig"
There you will find everything that automatically starts with Windows.
Disable everything you don't need ... reboot.

Also check your error logs. Windows logs are vague, at best; but
it may be trying to load a driver that does not play well with VM.
