[TriLUG] Debian on basic file server

I'm setting up a very basic file server, it will actually be used only for the data files of a single application. The application software is on a couple of WinXP and Win7 machines. The PC is an eMachine with 1GB of RAM. Is there any reason why I should install Debian 64 bit instead of 32 bit (I have both sets of DVDs)?  I know it's best not to install the GUI, but I don't have the time to do everything via the command line.
